Oil binds to oil. Sunscreen, makeup and the day's buildup lift away without scrubbing, hot water or surfactants.
No tight aftermath
Cleansers with surfactants can leave skin feeling tight. There are none in this formula — it cleanses and conditions in the same step, so skin feels comfortable straight out of the sink.

Amber glass, because oils don't like light
Botanical oils oxidise in sunlight. Amber glass slows that down, which is why every oil we make ships in it rather than clear glass or plastic. Hover to see what's inside.
Your evening ritual
- Apply to dry skin — four to five pumps into clean hands or onto a cotton round.
- Massage for 30 to 60 seconds. This is the part people skip and the part that matters.
- Rinse with a warm cloth. Double cleanse when you're removing makeup or SPF.
- Follow with Night Nourisher while skin is still damp.
Botanically scented with an organic essential oil blend. Patch test along the jaw first if your skin is reactive.
I loved seeing my makeup dissolve instantly. A few brands I've tried have left a residue on my eyelids, but I'm happy to report Merigold's doesn't.
The texture
Thin, not heavy
It spreads like a dry oil — no drag, no pulling at the eye area. Four to five pumps covers a whole face, which is less than most people expect the first time.
Nine ingredients, nothing we couldn't explain
Every oil in the bottle is there to do one job. Here are the three doing the most.
Castor oil
The cleanser of the blend. It binds to makeup, sunscreen and pore buildup so they rinse away, while keeping skin cushioned rather than squeaky.
Jojoba
Structurally close to skin's own sebum, so it conditions without leaving a residue. Suits oil-prone and dry skin alike.
Strawberry seed oil
Rich in antioxidants and omega fatty acids. Part of what stays behind after cleansing, and why skin looks smooth rather than bare.

Before you buy
Will an oil cleanser break me out?
The blend is built around jojoba, which is structurally close to skin's own sebum, and castor, which binds to buildup so a cloth can lift it away. If you're cautious, the 10 ml is $16 and exists for exactly this.
Do I still need a second cleanser?
Only when you're removing makeup or a full day of SPF — that's what double cleansing is for. On a bare-skin day, this on its own is the whole step.
Is it scented?
Botanically, with an organic essential oil blend. We disclose limonene and linalool on the label because they occur naturally in that blend.
How is this different from a face wash?
Face washes use surfactants, which lift oil by stripping it. This dissolves oil with oil instead, so nothing has to be stripped to get skin clean — which is the difference you feel afterwards.
